The quintessence of The Gita-wisdom is contained inthe words: Manmana Bhav’. ‘Dedicate your mind toMe; do things for Me alone; let your actions be offered

to Me in reverence ..... ‘.This ends with a firm assurance from God, saying that one

who stabilises his mind in God and surrenders himself to theSupreme, will certainly get liberated from body-consciousnessand the bondages that arise from it. The reason for such anexhortation and assurance is evident because man’s miseriesare mainly due to his attachments – attachment to his ownbody, to his bodily relatives and to other things, like hispossessions, his country, his language, etc., related to his body. So, if man yokes his mind to the remembrance of God andsurrenders his ego and his attachments, implied by the words‘My’, and ‘Mine’, he will truly be free from theseentanglements.

Shiv Baba advises us to follow Shrimat – the holy principlesenunciated by Him. These principles signify the will of God.When the devout pray to God, they say: ‘Lord, Thy will bedone’, or ‘Let that happen what is the wish of God”. If wereally act according to the will, wish, advice or Shrimat ofGod, our will would become strong and effective. If we identifyour will with that of God, i.e., if we act as He wills, all ourinner conflicts will have ended. We will have no ‘manmat’ i.e.,ego-centric tendencies and, so, we will work only as a divineinstrument. This will wipe off our pride and our attachmentsand will increase our capacity and efficiency. An importantconsequence of it will be that, with our attachments gone, wewill be able to adjust ourselves easily and quickly. Having beenfreed from other psychological memories, except that of Godand our duty; our energy potential will find no resistance andwill be free for full performance. In this state of being devoidof desire and with purity and detachment, it will function at itsbest and our mental efficiency will reach at its best. We will

What is the mostprecious orvaluable thing in

life? The immediate answerthat comes to mind is ‘life’itself. When lived happily, it isvery valuable; when wasted inunnecessary pursuits, i tdisappears into oblivion. Whileviewing the world scenario,it’s easy to comprehend andaccept the present situation ashaving become totallyworthless. People thought thatmodern gadgets would createconnectivity in such a way thatpeople would come very closein friendship and celebrateevery moment of life. However, as is prevalent in anydrama: the hero and the villaintend to co-exist. On one side, people are earning riches andmaterial wealth in shorterperiods of time but havebecome slaves of technology, and specifically of socialmedia. There is a stream ofuncertainty, fear, andchallenges at every step.

MAHASHIVRATRI BRINGSGOD’S BLESSINGS

AND WISDOM

Deceptions are galore. Even inthe name of religion, there isso much exploitation of theinnocent, ignorant, immaturedevotees and common people. The question arises: How canthe Supreme, the Divine, theAlmighty help these devoteesas they are so used to livingoff on short-lived miracles andfleeting attainments?!

God’s ways are strange buttrue. The rituals and beliefsystems on the path of Bhaktithat lead to temporary, illusionary achievementsbecome unimportant to thosewho keep courage, and waitpatiently for and awaken toGod’s clarion call. At the timewhen God descends in answerto cries and callings of thehuman children, He doesn’tperform those miracles whichare famously praised indifferent religions and groups.God does perform miraclesbut they are in the form ofrevelations, teachings andtransformation of human

consciousness to thehighest level. This is notthrough ‘trance’ but by‘transcending’ one’s thoughtfrom ordinary to that of super-human beings. The devoteeshave been performing differentkinds of ritual, and worshippingLord Shiva year after year forcenturies and yugas in thesame manner, with the sametype of prayers and offerings.Rather than receiving trueblessings from the SupremeDivine Parent, the devoteesenjoy temporary ecstasy withintoxicants and prayer-fullmoods. It is a matter of greatjoy to know that the time fortruly knowing, understandingand developing a strong bondwith the Supreme has finallycome...

The Brahma Kumaris aworld-wide institution, iscelebrating the 80th year ofGod’s reincarnation, duelyremembered as MahaShivratri. The birthdays of allthe gods and goddesses orReligious Founders areconnected with auspiciousdays of full-moon, Ekadashietc. but the incarnation of theSupreme Being, and the boonsHe bestows are connectedwith the middle of darkness ofKaliyug , Iron Age. Verylovingly, the devotees fast

whole day and night before itis declared that the moment ofGod’s reincarnation has comeand it’s time to receive Hisblessings and boons. However,God’s ways are strange. Onewonders at how God being theSupreme Father of all soulsbestows these blessings andboons onto humankind, and inwhat mysterious ways thesebenefits are granted...

The most significant thingthat is bestowed is TrueKnowledge: Sat Gyan aboutHis own being as IncorporealGod, the Bestower of blessingsand boons in the form ofSpiritual Wisdom as enshrinedin the highest scripture,Shrimad Bhagwad Gita. Theknowledge of the Self and thestory of interplay of all soulsfor 84 lives is so unique andwonderfully interwoven thatno one could ever replicatesuch a big story like the storyof the ‘Human World Drama’.There are over 7 billion actorswho play their respective rolesfor 5000 years, coming onstage one after the other. It’sintriguing to note that whenGod descends on earth, the 7billion+ actors are inhabitingthis planet in some form or theother, deeply immersed in theslumber of ignorance and lost

in sufferings of different kinds. The reality of religion is lost ininnumerable volumes ofphilosophy and human-madetales. So the first thing Godreveals onto His belovedhuman children is the trueknowledge of the Self aseternal souls belonging to theeternal spiritual parents orSupreme Mother-Father(God). The emerging flashinglights of Spiritual Knowledgeabout Easy RajyogaMeditation, the roles of thethree angelic beings: Brahma,Vishnu and Shankar/Maheshas His first creation, and thenthe story of heaven and hell aremost interesting and educativerevelations.

As human souls continue toawaken each other, andbecoming instrumental inbestowing God’s wisdom toother brother-souls, thesebeacons of light becomeevident all over the globe.Even the most ignorant soulstry to open their eyes to seethe light of God, and makespiritual endeavour to becomeknowledgeable, divine beings.Incorporeal Supreme Being,God Shiva, grants the highestboons of life for the ensuingGolden Age on the basis ofspiritual wisdom that He

imparts at the most auspiciousConfluence Age, that is, theconfluence of the ending yearsof Iron Age, and beginningyears of Golden Age.

Br. Jagdish Chander Hassija, one of our senior brothers andfamous spiritual writers hadonce written, “Man was nevera beast, nor will he everbecome a beast, but today hehas become worse than abeast...” Though an unpleasantstatement, it proves to be trueunfortunately as on the holyfestival of Shivratri, thepractice of sacrificing animalsin front at Shiva Temples is stillprevalent. This should bestopped at the earliest; rather, the offering of our prejudiced, weak, corrupt behaviours, attitudes and sanksars needsto be sacrificed completely, and divinity in life, and virtuesin interactions should beimbibed. This would be themost beautiful, glorious way tocelebrate the Festival of MahaShivratri in the real sense.

Maha Shivratri meanscelebrating God’sreincarnation, receiving theHighest Wisdom for leading adivine life, and sharing theresponsibility of transformingthe world from hell intoheaven. Worthiness of God’s

Page 6: 03 world renewal mar16

6 The World Renewal, March 2016

children lies in ‘becoming’ andnot just ‘imagining’ or‘philosophizing’. The role of theSupreme Father, IncorporealGod Shiva, now is to preparehuman souls to become worship-worthy beads of the rosaryinstead of merely turning thebeads of the rosary, and chantingmantras or names of the Divine. The time is now: let’s beproud of being spiritualchildren of the IncorporealSupreme Soul, honour GodShiva’s reincarnation, andcelebrate Maha Shivratri byraising God Shiva’s flag tothe highest pinnacle! This willhelp billions of human souls tohave an experience of thepeaceful, powerful rays of lightand might of the Guiding Star, toclaim our full spiritualinheritance from the Divine, share spiritual wisdom withothers and bring them closer tothe Supreme, and hold close toour hearts all these experiencesfor cycle after cycle.

On the purest occasion ofMaha Shivratri, we wouldlike to share some specialinsights and elevateddirections from the SupremeBeing, Supreme Parent asshared through the physicalmedium:

The Supreme Being

descends to play out Hischerished roles of beingSupreme Father, SupremeTeacher, and Supreme Guruor Satguru to all human soulsat the beneficial ConfluenceAge. It is the most apt timefor human beings to regaintheir lost self-sovereignty,replenish the inner spirit withspiritual virtues and powers, and share peace, love anddivine wisdom with otherseekers of truth, liberation andsalvation. The Almighty, BenevolentSupreme Being teaches ushow to perfect the ‘trimurti’role in our personal lives:“Do you put every thought

and every action that iscreated into a practical formwhilst being ‘trikaldarshi(knower of the three aspectsof time’? If you do not destroythe old sanskars, your natureand weak thoughts, how willthe new creation be created? And if you do create the newcreation but do not sustain it,what would it look likepractically? You are to destroythe sinful actions and wastefulthoughts.

“You must not only burnaway your sinful actionsand wasteful thoughts, butas you are the world

benefactors, it is thereforeyour task to lighten theburden of sinful actions ofinnumerable souls, and tof inish their wastefulthoughts. So now, both thistask of destruction (of thewaste and weak thoughts)and the task of the creationof pure thoughts have to becarried out with full force.

“Just as the form andcolour of an object changeas soon as it is put into amachine, in the same way,the thoughts, form, virtuesand task of all the soulswho come in front of youwill change in this spiritualmachinery. Also the virtuesand task of the f iveelements will change.”

By understanding andimplementing all of the abovein our lives, and imbibingGodly qualities, human soulscan become worship-worthydeities to continue theirheroic roles in the ensuingworld of peace, happinessand plenty: Golden Age,Bahisht, Heaven, Paradise,Satyug.

May you all reclaim yourfortune and Godly birthright tobecome divine human beings!

The occasion was releaseof book by LizHodkinson, prolific

journalist, author andbroadcaster about health, lifestyle and property, on ‘themost powerful intellect’ and headof Brahma Kumaris, 100 year

young Dadi Janki. Around 525people in the Auditorium andSeminar Room were shown avideo about Dadi Janki’s life, with many people sharing whatthey’ve learnt and experiencedthough her company – her love, her words and her example. Tothe surprising music of the JamesBond theme tune, MCs Pavan

UNSHAKEABLE FAITH,UNBREAKABLE LOVE

and Matthew brought on to thestage three giant helium balloonsin the shape of a one and twozeros, to read ‘100’. Looked atthe other way, they could read‘007’. ‘Come to think of it, Dadiis a special agent, they joked,‘Not on Her Majesty’s Servicebut on God’s Service!’

A slide show capturingspecial moments from Dadi’s100 years of service was shown, with photos of early days withBrahma Baba, London peacemarches, and Dadi meeting awhole range of people ofdifferent cultures, faiths, backgrounds and ages, includingPope John Paul, the Dalai Lama,Prince Charles, Rajiv Gandhi,Robin Gibb, Abdul Kalam, BabaRamdev, Narendra Modi, UriGeller and many others. Therewere wonderful portraits ofDadi sharing, listening intently, studying, dancing, pointingupwards, wagging that finger, smiling and clenching a firm fistof determination.

Dadi Janki and Sister Jayanti, along with Liz Hodgkinson, thencame on stage. Sister Roshnipresented Liz with a beautifulbox, inside which was a copy ofLiz’s newly published biographyof Dadi, Dadi Janki– ACentury of Service which Lizthen gave to Dadi, whoimmediately started reading it.

Liz: As a young journalist, Iwas commissioned by ‘She’magazine to write an articleabout the Brahma Kumaris, asthe only spiritual organisation runby women. From the first time Imet Dadi, I thought there’ssomething special about thesepeople. I didn’t know anythingabout them, their history orbeliefs. Dadi told my husbandNeville and I to do the Rajyogameditation course. After that,Neville became a BK. I didn’tbut I was supportive because Iliked them and what they wereworking to achieve. I’ve spentthe last year and a half studyingDadi, where she came from and

how she’s achieved what she’sachieved. A lot of that has beendue to her thoughts, vision, courage and determination.Q: When Dadi came to cold, grey London in 1974, did sheimagine that in 2016 – her100th year – that all thiswould have been achieved, that the influence of the BKswould have spread all overthe world?

Dadi: It’s the wonder of theFather. He created this wholegame. Baba told me many yearsago: just remain peaceful andhappy. Someone once took aphoto of me with my handraised; I see it all as a detachedobserver: He is the Almightywho made everything happen.I’m so fortunate He made aninnocent one like me Hisinstrument and that He alsomade me His friend.Q: Even when you choose aninstrument, you still have towork hard! In the 1970s it wasa very different society fromwhat it is today. How did Dadimanage to attract Westerners– people not of an Indian/Hindu background? In 1970few had heard of karma orreincarnation. How did Dadi,a fairly elderly Indian lady, who’d never even met aWesterner before, cross thecultural and spiritual barrier

and attract Westerners –English, Australian, Americanand from all over?

Dadi: What does it mean tobe a detached observer? There’sthe understanding of the essenceof knowledge that everyone is asoul, a child of the One. My deepfeeling was that, just as God hadmade me realise the value ofhuman life, I’d like everyone torealise the value of their life.Did you ever dream you’dbecome a friend with someonelike me and be in such agathering? You’re an exampleyourself and there are manyothers. We always meet with asmile. A smile alone can bringnewness in life. When I listen toold stories and other people’sissues, it takes away the valueof my own life. We have to bedetached but have a lovingnature.

Liz: I never imagined that I’dbe here, doing this, 35 yearslater! But I did feel then that lifewould never be the same again.I’d researched Easternmovements and groups andhadn’t liked them but with Dadiit was different. I was provedright.Q: How much does Dadi thinkthat it was the strength of thevibrations that attracted theyoung and well educatedWesterners who came at the

beginning, rather than theactual knowledge beingshared?

Dadi: I found in themwonderful service companions.Q:In all other Indianmovements, it was a male atthe head – often verycharismatic and educated. They started off quite poor butthen got rich and famous andvery pleased with themselvesand living in luxury. This hasnever happened with the BKs.To what extent does Dadithink that the leadership ofwomen has attracted people tothe organisation andinfluenced how it has grown?

Dadi: Externally, men canhave force and suppress womenwith that. But God gave womena lot of inner strength to see menas their brothers. Even while shewas taking the course, SisterJayanti changed everything veryquickly – her dress, her home, her lifestyle, etc. Many sisterscame along to serve from all overthe world.Q: Dadi has a unique gift ofpicking the right people forthe task and the place. Dadisaw in those who came earlyon– people of both Indian andWestern background –something they may not haveseen themselves and gavethem the courage to do what

Page 9: 03 world renewal mar16

9The World Renewal, March 2016

they wouldn’t have dreamedpossible. How does Dadimanage to do that?

Dadi: When I call you, ‘mysister’, do you feel that power? There’s definitely a specialpower from above working onyou to ask these very interestingquestions!Q: Dadi came from a verytraditional Indianbackground, yet in many waysDadi was ahead of her time. When Dadi came in 1970s,there were no women vicars, rabbis, although now womenspiritual leaders are fairlycommon. Dadi also led theway having your roomspainted white – at that time itwas strong colours andpatterns everywhere! Dadipays a lot of attention to detail. She was a fore-runner in thenow fashionable practice ofde-cluttering; Dadi’s homesand spaces were nevercluttered. I remember Dadisaying: Your home mustalways be welcoming and freeof clutter, clean and smart, ready for whoever may come.Dadi never let anything stopher – never gave up, neverworried about not having anymoney, always thought big,has never been nervous. DoesDadi actually never getnervous or afraid?

Dadi: Please don’t keep

saying Dadi, Dadi, because it’sdefinitely the One above who isusing you! I had a lot of pain thisafternoon but by the evening Iwas well. God is truly theAlmighty Authority and He givesme power. He’s revealingHimself. It’s no glory of mine –it’s His glory.Q: You might imagine thatsomeone reaching 100,having ‘conquered’ so manycountries and travelled sowidely, would always have hadgood health. Actually, Dadihas had to cope with seriousillness for most of her life. Oneof the greatest things sheteaches us is the power ofmind over matter. These daysthere’s a lot of emphasis onillness and medical treatment– how much does mind playin bouncing back from illhealth?

Dadi: God keeps telling us tostay focused on One but themind is mischievous and playsgames. We study four subjects:knowledge, yoga, practicalapplication and service.Knowledge is: who I am andwho belongs to me. As a soul,I’m not aware of physicalrelations. Because my mind islinked with God, the soulreceives power to travel fardistances alone. In practical lifeI always kept courage; couragehelps enormously. All my life

I’ve experienced how mycourage brings the Father’shelp. When my heart is honest,I know the Lord is pleased withme. He says: Never bedispleased and never causedispleasure. What happens tothe face when anyone isdispleased? There were 60,000people at a recent event in Delhi.Sitting or standing, I stay insilence, in God’s remembrance.I don’t write notes. The intellectthinks big –in an unlimited way.God is unlimited and He makesus the same. He stays above inthe land of silence with the soleconcern of bringing benefit to allof us. He tells us that the causeof our sorrow is: lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego. Inthe early days an old lady wouldsometimes stay with us. Theonly thing she found difficult wasthat Dadi had no interest infashion or hairstyles and shealways wanted to go out and gether hair done. It’s such a wasteof money and time.

Liz: Dadi has also shownus how to live simply. Wedon’t accumulate – or evenwant – so many possessions. There’s the understandingthat they’re not really goingto enhance my life and I haveto keep taking them with mewhen I move. People arecoming round to that way ofthinking. In the West

Page 10: 03 world renewal mar16

10 The World Renewal, March 2016

particularly we’ve far toomany possessions – wehoard things. To me it’s atthe heart of Dadi’s power. Before anything else, Dadisets an example – to helppeople maximise theirmeditation power and theirconnection with God.Q: In leadership circles theyspeak of the big ‘D’ – the bigdistractions. Those who don’treach their potential are thosewho get distracted. Dadi, onthe other hand, has alwayshad total dedication; she hasnever let anything come in theway of her goal, has she?

Dadi: You haven’t actuallylived with me but you’vemanaged to capture the essenceof what Dadi stands for. But noneed for ‘Dadi, Dadi’: God’steachings are wonderful.

Liz: Dadi has never gotbored – she’s just asenthusiastic as when I firstmet her. What’s thedifference between courageand enthusiasm? Enthusiasmis infectious; courage can bean individual thing.‘Passionate’ is a word nowoverused by marketers, meaning enthusiasm fortheir product. Dadi has somuch enthusiasm for herproduct.

Dadi: Yes, we need courageand enthusiasm to make things

happen. You actually need zealas well as enthusiasm in orderto make a nice idea a reality.

Liz: Dadi is very down toearth and practical. Nothingis too small to escape Dadi’sattention – even thepositioning of radiators hereat Global House! Dadi thinksbig yet also gives attentionto tiny details that areimportant.

Dadi: The Lord is pleasedwith an honest heart and thiswas proved in the building of thisHouse. We had less than £100when we started thinking aboutthis place. We kept a meditationroom, and we would come andmeditate here, at the same timethe building work began. It’samazing how it all happened. Ihave been a detached observer.

Liz: All this helps us tounderstand how Dadiconquered the West.

Dadi: When East and Westcome together, then everythingis the best. Otherwise, East isone place and West another. Letthere be such honesty and lovein your heart that it touches thehearts of others. Then I’ll say:You’re God’s right hand and I’mHis left hand. You’re sitting onthe right, I am on the left but leteach of us take such power –that light and that might – fromGod. There’s a body, yes, butstill let there be light: I am a soul

and God belongs to me.Everyone here belongs to One,whether they accept it at themoment or not. I belong to Him,He belongs to Me. God is myCompanion and says: Just sitcomfortably, in sweet silence.Does silence make us becomesweet or is silence sweet?

If you all find these thingseasy to understand and accept, then carry away this one thing:let your food and drink be pureand let your thoughts also bepure and elevated. Those pure, elevated thoughts will serve inan incognito way. I’ve found itamazing what people founddifficult to understand andaccept 40 years ago, they nowfind very easy. Knowledge iseasy to put into your life. Havingan example in front of youenables you to put it into practiceyourself. You’re mentioningDadi’s name but it’s actuallyGod’s name.

We’ve been conversing butthis has all been ‘yoga’. Yogameans connection with God.When there’s that connectionwith the Almighty, you drawpower in your life and youractions are then powerful andelevated. Even if there havebeen mistakes, God’s power canhelp you realise what is right andwhat is wrong and help you tochoose to do the right thing fromnow onwards.

Page 11: 03 world renewal mar16

the knowledge and strength to doit as well. The Father says:‘Remember Me, and you will getthe strength to catch up with youroriginal stage; otherwise youractions will not be elevated.’

Sometimes we say that wewant to do good actions, but themind doesn’t go towards thegood, it goes towards the bad;and we do not know why thishappens. It is because we don’thave the strength to do goodactions. Because our stage istamopradhan (completelydegraded), we are influenced byvices a great deal. Our oldpropensities (sanskars) createan obstacle in going towards

From the Melodies of Mateshwari Jagdamba Saraswatigood. The Father says:‘Children, let that obstacle goaway. How? By havingconnection with Me, or throughMy remembrance. Continue toclear the burden of sins, theobstacles or bondages, throughMy remembrance, and bringinto practice the knowledge Igive. Continue to performelevated actions and you willbecome satopradhan[completely pure] and will attainthe pure stage which wasoriginally yours.’God Comes and Transforms

the Entire WorldThis knowledge will remain in

the intellect of those who listento Godly versions, i.e. Flute ofKnowledge or Gyan Murli, daily. Our attainment from theunlimited Father should be in theintellect. We receive a body inthe New World only on the basisof this attainment. As is thesoul, so is the body; and as arethe body and soul, so shall bethe world. Hold all these aspectsin mind. It is not a question ofone person, but the whole world. The Supreme Father, theSupreme Soul, is creating sucha pure world now. No one elsecan perform this act. Christcame but he is not called the onewho created the world; he iscalled one who created religion. He just created his new religion.Buddha came, and he created

When it is said,‘Supreme Father,Supreme Soul’, it

means we definitely are Hischildren. It isn’t that He is theFather and we are also theFather. If the soul is theSupreme Soul, then the soulwould also be called theSupreme Father. But if you say‘father’, then there are childrenas well! ‘Father’ is said inrelation to a father and son! Ifeveryone is father, why do wesay father? Definitely the fatherand the son are different. Whenwe say ‘son’ it is always inconnection with the father, andvice-versa. He is always spokenof as the Supreme Father, theSupreme Soul.

‘Yes, there is a differencebetween the stage you had, andthe stage you have now. I havenow come to make good thatdifference, i.e., I have come tochange the present stage – toremove the difference.’ TheFather gives us the knowledge asto how to bring about change.Within the understanding that Heexplains to enable us to recoverour original stage, He is giving us

Page 12: 03 world renewal mar16

12 The World Renewal, March 2016

his new religion in this world. To transform, or create the

world is the task of the Onewho is called the World Creator,World Almighty Authority. Thisalso should be understood: thatHis task is different from thatof all other souls. As soulscome and do their respectivetasks, similarly, He does Histask; but He has His own wayof doing His task. Even theSupreme Soul enters a humanbody to perform His act.

Each soul takes one birthafter another. We cannot saythat all this is the act of theSupreme Soul. It is the karmicaccount of each soul. Therehave been good souls in theworld like Christ, Buddha,Gandhiji, and other religiouspeople who played theirrespective roles, as you havedone. The soul has in itself therecord of many births, and thatrecord will play. This world is aplace to play. That is why it iscalled the drama stage. EvenGod has an act to play, once, inthis drama. His act is the mostelevated, as He comes andtransforms our world; but howdoes He do this? Bytransforming souls, on whichbasis the nature and everythingin the world changes, Hechanges the world. The Fatherexplains all these things. Thisis His job.

God Takes a Body butDoesn’t Suffer from any

Karmic AccountsThis world is called the field

of action [Karma-kshetra],where every human soul playsits respective part. The Fathersays: ‘I too have a part, but Mineis different from everyoneelse’s. Even I have an account, but it is different from that ofsouls. I don’t come into cycleof death and birth and unlikesouls, I never suffer karma. Mypart is such that I only come andliberate souls. This is why I’mcalled the Liberator, the Onewho makes souls free frombondage. Only I will come andlet you know how I come, andhow I liberate.’

There are certain rules orlaws which also need to beunderstood. There is a law foreverything in this world. Thereare laws for this human world, and also for human beings.

First comes childhood, thenadolescence, then youth; then asman grows he becomes old andis totally decayed until one dayhe meets his end. Everythinggrows, decays and one day willalso meet its end. It is similarwith the life of the world; it toohas laws. Everything will grow, and will be reduced. As with thedifferent stages of life, it issimilar with our different births. Then also there are stages for

the life of the world, andlikewise, there are stages forreligions. The first religion is themost powerful one. Thosereligions that come later are lesspowerful. Accordingly, thereligions expand.

God Comes andEstablishes the World of

Religious SoulsThe Father says: ‘I also have

My part in this drama. I comeand purify everyone. A powerfulSoul is needed for this. I am alsoa Soul; I, God, am not anythingdifferent; but My task and Mypart are huge and elevated. Thisis why I’m called Supreme Soul,God, and Liberator.’

No human being can be aliberator. Human beings comeand expand their number, just asChrist came. His task is to bringsouls of his religion. But hecannot take them all back, because that is not his task. Totake everyone back is the taskof the Supreme Soul. So God isnot some other thing. It’s just thatHis task is different, and that iswhy He is called God.

He says: ‘I’m also a soul, likeyou. There is no difference inthe form, but yes, there is a hugedifference in the task. Those arecalled religious fathers, and I’mcalled the Supreme Father. Theyare religious fathers whoestablish religion, and I’m the

Holi is considered to beone of the mostimportant festivals of

India. But, the present form ofthis festival is entirely differentfrom its original form. In fact, many spiritual mysteries arehidden in this festival, but todaythose who celebrate this festivalset aside the spirituality andmorality and celebrate it bygetting involved in eve-teasing,commotion and to avengesomeone. Due to this presentvicious form of the festival, bothin India and other countries, toomany royal people have startedto hate this festival. Thereforeit is essential to know its spiritualmeaning and then celebrate it,only then one will be able tomove in a new direction in one’slife.

The festival of Holi iscelebrated after the greatfestival Shivratri, on the fullmoon day of the month ofPhagun of the Hindu calendar.People celebrate it in four ways– (i) they colour each other, which is the commemoration ofinspiring one-another to match

THE FESTIVAL OFHOLI

the personality traits and nature,(ii) they burn the bonfire ofHolika, which means to finishone’s bad deeds and badthoughts in the fire, (iii) theymeet each other joyously andcheerfully which inspires themeliminate the deeply-rootedsanskars of jealousy and enmityfrom within, (iv) many peopledepict Shri Krishna to beswinging in the swing whichbrings a sense of zeal andexcitement thus inspiring tocontinue to swing in the swingof super-sensuous joy like this.

The Indian calendar year endswith Phagun month and thepurpose of burning bonfire ofHolika on the night of full moonday is to incinerate the mistakes, the bad thoughts one might havehad throughout the year in thefire and to start the new yearjoyfully happily, and vice-lessly.

And celebrating the festival atthe end of the year signifies thefag-end of Kaliyuga after whichthe days of peace, prosperity andpurity in the New Golden AgeWorld started and the sorrows, diseases, disquiet, and povertyprevailing in the Kaliyuga ended. But here one might question as

to how the pain, miseries etc. ofall the people would finish justby burning the bonfire of Holikaor cow-dung.

It becomes clear that it is notachieved by burning the woodsor the dried cow-dung flakes butwhen we burn our badpropensities, thoughts and wordsin the fire of yoga, the same willbe destroyed completely. Thenonly we’ll be able to enjoycomplete peace and happinessin the New Golden Age world. Thus, this festival inspires us toconnect our yoga of the intellectwith the Supreme Soul, GodFather Shiva who is also calledthe Ocean of Peace, Prosperityand Purity. Holi comes afterShivratri (Shiv Jayanti) whichsymbolizes that when theSupreme Soul, God Father Shivareincarnates on this earth, i.e.takes the divine birth andteaches Rajyoga, then, thosesouls who connect their yoga ofintellect with Him will attaincomplete peace, prosperity andpurity.

THE MEANING OFHOLIKA

Some people consider themeaning of Holika to be‘roasted grain’. On the occasionof Holika, they burn the sheavesof wheat and barley. In theparlance of yogis, knowledgeand yoga (austerity) have beencompared to a roasted seedwhich cannot germinate and

– BK Jagdish Chander

Page 14: 03 world renewal mar16

produce fruit. Likewise, the actperformed in the state of beingknowledge-full will not turn outto be a wrong deed. Hence,Holika is symbolic of theelevated directions/ advice givenby the Supreme Soul, GodFather Shiva at the end ofKaliyuga to burn the seed ofkarma in the fire of knowledgeand remembrance. In otherwords, He inspires us to do therighteous karma, and we mustimplement the same. Weshouldn’t assume Holi to be justburning some bonfire and cowdung, but should burn our old andpolluted sanskars through thefire of yoga and performall karma in a knowledge-full and meditative state.

The meaning of Holi inother words can bedenoted as to let the pastbe the past; i.e. weshouldn’t be worried forsomething that hashappened and in futurewhatever karma we

perform, we should do thesame in Godlyremembrance. Secondly,Holi means ‘Ho li’; i.e., “I,the soul have surrenderedmyself to God, i.e. fromnow onward, I’ll performevery act as per thedirection or advice ofSupreme Father only”.Thirdly, Holy means Pure,

i.e. whatever karma we have todo we should do it without beinginfluenced by any vice, i.e. theactions should be pure. Thus, wecan get so many teachings fromthe one name of the festival‘Holi’.

THE COLOURS ONHOLI

The tradition of applyingcolours on each other on thefestival of Holi is symbolic ofbeing coloured in the companyof others. Knowledge iscompared to – antimony (anjan, surma), nectar, fire etc.Likewise, knowledge is alsocompared to colour. A

knowledgeable person colourshis friends and relatives with thecolour of knowledge; heconnects the souls with theSupreme Soul and enables themto know the method to getpower from Him.

Until a human being iscoloured in the colour of spiritualknowledge and colours otherswith the same, he cannot bejoyful, i.e. he cannot enjoy theauspicious communion with theSupreme Father, God and thusgets deprived of the divine joy.In the absence of trueknowledge, how can a humanbeing have auspiciouscommunion with the GodFather? Ignorant or vicioushuman beings of today whoare subservient to vices, bringsorrow and loss to others. Moreover, a human being willbe able to have an auspiciouscommunion with the SupremeFather, God, only when hecleans the soul in the Oceanof Knowledge, i.e., when he

burns his old, pollutedbehaviour, conduct, and vices, in the fire ofknowledge and Godlyremembrance. Onlysuch a Holi is the trueHoli. Wish you all avery-very Happy andDivinely ColourfulHoli!

A few years ago when Ivisited Batticaloa, SriLanka, they gave me a

pleasant surprise by offering mea ready-made stage of 20,000people on the auspicious day ofMahashivratri. In fact for sucha big mega program they shouldhave invited some very seniorperson from India. But dramawas wonderful. It was myfortune.

When I reached Batticaloa, people were working day andnight, as if possessed by somespirit. However, thank God, itwas Holy Spirit. All wereinvolved and working as a team.Bro. Ganesh, the NationalCoordinator came to Batticaloa, stayed for a few days, plannedthe event personally, and guidedbrothers and sisters over there.

Bro. Suresh, the centrecoordinator of Batticaloa, a silentcraftsman, had been handling theproject for more than a month. The media; both the electronicmedia and print media, washelping the cause of creatingawareness to a great extent. Atabloid was inserted in every

BIRTH OF GOD

newspaper so as to cover entireSri Lanka.

Six Chariots were moving inevery part of the province, eachwith one Jyotirlingam. Greatawareness was created. Eventhe reputed priests were comingand performing worship of thosejyotirlingams. So, there was greatplanning and equally greatexecution, with everyone’sinvolvement and power of unity. The program was organized onthe ground of an EngineeringCollege on Maha Shivratri.

I played my role by sharingthe following lines –

First and foremost Icongratulated the audience fortheir birthday. Naturally itshocked them. They werewonderstruck as to how comeGod’s birthday is their birthday!

I then explained that when achild is born, it denotes the birthof the Father too otherwise heis just a married person. Whena child is born then only hebecomes father. So, a child’sbirth is the father’s birth andFather’s birth is child’s birth. So,our birth is God’s birth and God’s

birth is ours. So, congratulationson the occasion of your birthday!A wave of delight and laughterspread.

Nirakari – Nirahankari –Nirvikari:

Then I narrated my days ofchildhood. I come from a villageof India. The village is made upof scattered houses, havingcourtyards in the front and theback, what is commonly knownas ‘Farm houses’ now-a-daysand sold at fabulous prices. Wewere staying in such farmhouses with no money in pocket. There were no roads, justbecause people walked on thesame strip of land, the pathwayswere created. Adjacent to theresidential complex, there arebushes, trees, plantation, flowers, butterflies, sometimesriver, mountains or some niceand beautiful landscapes. Duringour summer vacation, wechildren would wander in thebushes where we got blackberries. They were very sweet, sometimes even big browncoloured ants run on them. These bushes had big thorns. Inour childhood no child used tohave shoes, we walkedbarefoot. The berries wouldtempt us and we plucked themwhile protecting ourselves fromthe thorny bushes. Sometimes, whilst plucking from higherbranches by raising our toes, welost our balance and happened

to step on the thorns. A wave ofpain made us shout ‘Oh, God!’,‘Hey Prabhu!’ ‘Hey, Ishwar!’

When such wave of pain runsthrough your spine all of asudden and unexpectedly thenwhich figure of God appears onthe screen of your mind?

Or consider when you get acall from your relative informingabout the death of your near anddear one, when you did not evenknow that he was hospitalised.Listening to this you exclaim,‘Oh, God!’, ‘Hey Prabhu!’ ‘Hey,Ishwar!’

Whose figure appears?Be truthful. Please note there

is no time to conceive any imageas it is sudden, all of a sudden, you receive a wave of pain orsorrow or shocking news thenwhich figure appears?

Truly, No figure appears!Though you are Worshipper ofGanesha or Krishna still theirfigures will not appear. Why?Because God has NO FIGURE.If you exclaim “Amma” yourmother’s figure will appear, butwhen you say, ‘Oh God’ nofigure appears. Why? BecauseGod has no figure! He isbodiless–Nirakari. He isEgoless –Nirahankari. He isvice-less –Nirvikari. God hasno vices and negativity. He is100% Positive, the source ofpositivity.

Jyotir Bindu – Point ofLight – God Shiva:

This clearly means no bodilybeing can be God. So,amongst the numerous deitiesworshipped daily, who is God?The deities have a body so, theycan’t be God. As we have beenworshipping them for ages, theymust be some great andpowerful personalities. They aregods and goddesses. They areGod’s first creation, about whichit is said, ‘God made man in Hisown image.’ He created themequal to Himself. The creationis so powerful and great that wemistook them for God Himself. The deities are God’s creation,God’s image, God’s picture,God’s replica. Howeverbeautiful the picture may be, itis picture. It is not the person. Ifmy wife mistook my picture forme, what will she achieve, whatcan she get from a picture? So,deities are deities, they are notGod. So the question remainswho is this Bodiless, Egoless,Vice less God?

God is Paramatma–TheSupreme Soul. Being a soul Heis also “a point of light, pointof energy”. Point means Bindu, light means jyoti, so, He isJyotibindu. He must be God,the Destroyer of sorrow, theBestower of happiness, theBenefactor.

So, what benefits does He

bring to us? He purifies theimpure souls. Because only theOne who is pure can makeothers pure. Now, when doesHe come?

It is said Bhagwanuwach(God spoke) in Geeta –

“Yadayada hi DharmasyaGlanir Bhavati Bharat.

Abhyuthanamadharmasya….Sambhavami Yuge Yuge!”

It means whenever thereis irreligiousness andunrighteousness, Goddescends to save dharma, protect the righteous onesand destroy the vicious ones.

It denotes the present timewe are living in. What are thesituations now? How manyreligions and how manybranches and sub-branches ofeach religion are there? Howmany divisions? How manyopinions? There is utterconfusion. There is violence,sex-lust, corruption, disquiet andimmorality prevalent in thesociety So, this is the right timefor God to descend and destroyirreligiousness and create thereligion of Truth as He haspromised. I am giving you thisgood news that He hasalready come. He has beendoing His work since 1936. Weshould come forward and claimour birth right, our inheritancefrom our Father.

How should we do that? Byconnecting to Him and

Page 17: 03 world renewal mar16

17The World Renewal, March 2016

remembering Him and thisprocess is Yoga. Let me give youan experience of Yoga…

And I gave a meditationcommentary....and gave theman experience of peace. Theentire atmosphere was charged,spell-bound and everyone feltrefreshed and powerful.

Everything, including thecommentary, wassimultaneously translated inTamil by Br. Somesh .

The programme was muchappreciated. Those who wereserved were happy andcontented, and also those whorendered service were happyand contented and so was I.

Thanks Baba, what a greatopportunity you gave to thissoul of yours!

Wah, Baba wah! Wah,Drama Wah!! Wah, myfortune wah!!! Wah, DivineFamily!!!!

The Truth about GodIt is said, ‘God Speaks’

(Bhagwanuvach). What Hespoke became a scripture –‘Shrimat Bhagvad Geeta’.‘Bhag’ stands for Bhagwan,God. And ‘vad’, a Sanskrit wordfor ‘speak’. Whatever God saysare elevated directions for themankind. ‘Sri’ stands forelevated and ‘mat’ for advice, opinion or directions. There arethree types of ‘mat’ (dictates) –Man mat, Par mat and

Ishwariya mat. Manmat meansdictates of one’s own mind,Parmat means dictates ofothers, and Ishwariya matmeans Shrimat, that is, Godlydirections. Manmat and Parmatare the root causes ofdegradation of mankind whereasShrimat is the basis forupliftment of humanity.

So, whatever God speaks arereal jewels of knowledge, Hisevery word is worth thousandsof rupees; in fact, they areinvaluable jewels. They arepositive, elevated, pure, powerfuland benevolent thoughts. Hespeaks daily with His children aswe receive His love-filled letterof three pages. Let me sharefollowing three ElevatedVersions in which He speaksabout Himself–

He speaks – “I am theFather of all Fathers,Husband of all husbands,Guru of all gurus – Satguru;Lord of all Lords, Mahadev;and Death of all deaths –Mahakal.”

When we listen to such words,we may feel it is arrogance. ButHe is egoless. He is just tellingus the plain truth(facts). Perhapsthe last part of the sentencerequires some explanation.Mahakaal – Kaal stands for twothings; one for time and the otherfor death. When Kaal, i.e., deathcomes, it can take a life or may

be thousands of lives in a naturalcalamity. However, when Godcomes on this planet and finishesHis job of teaching and enablingpeople to become pure, thedestruction takes place. Afterthe ‘destruction’, every one ofus has to leave this body andfollow Him to the soul world. That is the reason He is knownas Mahakaal; He is the Deathof deaths, a massive death! Allthe dead bodies left behind onthe earth will disintegrate andmerge into the soil, that willenhance the fertility of the soil;and thus the coming era, theGolden Age (Satyug), will havea very fertile land. As a result, the agriculture produce will bethe best in quality, quantity andsize.

“By studying scriptures, you can become a scholar(Pandit), but you can’t attainMe through them. You canonly attain Me when I willreveal Myself to you.”

When God relates this Godlyversion that gives us theknowledge about us, the souls;about Himself, and about thebeginning, the middle and theend of the world drama, thecycle of life and death, weunderstand exactly what He isand as He is, what our roles areand what is His role in this entireworld drama.(...to be contd. in next issue)

In 21st century we find onlybusy people. Everybody ison the run. The fast life has

come to be accepted as anormal condition. Thinking of aneasy life is like living in an utopiafairy land. This fast life hasproduced a chain of fast foodjoints and junk food eating habitsthus affecting the physical, mental and social health of thepeople in general. In an erawhere we are all required to doseveral things at once, thisconstant multi-tasking is takinga toll not only on our health buton our mind too. Easy life is thebasis of all kinds ofachievements. As we can seethat all the scientific andtechnological inventions havebeen made when the mind of theresearcher is fully engrossed inhis research work and ithappens only when one isrelaxed and in an easy mindset. There is peace and stability inthe mind. Therefore, it isnecessary that one should havea schedule which is properlychalked out and planned well sothat one by one, things can begiven shape. A machine

EASY LIFE FOR BUSYPEOPLE

invented by man has differentperformance levels. It can workat low speed, mid speed and highspeed as the situation requires. In the same way, a human mind, which is the master of allinventions, has the uniquecapacity to be busy outside andalso easy inside. There arecertainly some steps throughwhich it is possible.

Organise the mindWe all have mind. But, very

seldom we speak to the mind.We very rarely focus ourattention on the mind so that wecan avoid waste, negative andvicious thoughts. We shouldorganise our mind every morningby feeding the mind with theday’s programme so that therewould not be any margin for themind to think waste and negative. This programme should focus onthe things that we should attendto on that particular day. Weshould see that we make thispresent the best present so as tomake the next present the bestpresent. The present time shouldbe properly invested and madepleasant and happy. Since life iscreated only in the present, we

should see that we enjoy thepresent moment and make thebest of it by doing somethingconstructive. Every moment isa chance to let go, learn andgrow. Letting go of past andfocusing on present gives usmore time to be mindful ofimportant tasks and improve ourefficiency.

Self-discipline: One should also have a

disciplined lifestyle with regularsleep and diet, balancing workand leisure, relationship, beingduty- consciousness andresponsibility- consciousnessand so on. There should also becongruence in our thoughts, words and deeds with emphasison commitment, integrity, goodcharacter and benevolence. Oneshould be neat, clean, tidy andwell dressed with an attractivepersonality. Place of stay andwork should be clean and neat, where everything should be atits right place with orderliness sothat anyone who visits the placewould enjoy the atmosphere. The overall ambience of theworkplace and living spaceshould be pleasing and peaceful.

Empower patiencePatience is a great power.

When we maintain sustainedpatience, it is said that our powerof tolerance will increase.Patience has the ability tomaintain peace, harmony, understanding and forgiveness.

Soul-consciousness is the basisof patience. The soul is basicallypeaceful, pure and love-full.These three virtues of the soulenable one to maintain patiencewith knowledge and wisdom. The thought contained in thequality of patience has theunique horse power to speed upmen and matters in the rightdirection. Here the person whois busy outside can still enjoy hisinner freedom and calmness. Inorder to empower patience, onemust give attention to inculcatein good measure the virtues ofpeace, humility, simplicity, respect and love. We are alsoaware that the easinessdisappears when obstinacy, belligerence, anger and lazinessetc. set in. Therefore, in orderto be easy inside, it is necessaryfor us to avoid all kinds of wastesand negative thoughts andconsciously create good andelevated thoughts.

Passion to enjoy lifeThere is a misconception with

regard to passion to enjoy life. Many feel that enjoyment comesonly when we eat, sleep, watcha movie, or when we indulge infrolics and frivolities. However, enjoyment comes when we dothings with total involvement, and with a lot of passion andtaste, being fully aware thatwhatever we are doing is goingto be a contribution to the well

being of this world. It is throughhard work that great accompli-shments have been made so far. There is a special taste in greatachievements. Nobody has dieddue to hard work. People aredying because of not doing work.Work is an opportunity to learnnew things in life and also togrow. An element of passion toserve others plays an importantrole to be easy. Just like circusartists perform mind-bogglingfeats, we can also deal with anykind of problems in the field ofwork and life with ease andpeace in case we practise theart of speeding up at will andslowing down at will.

Rajyoga MeditationEven though we have

discussed many points ofknowledge to remain in an easyand busy stage, it is impossibleto be easy and busy without thepractice of Rajyoga Meditationtaught by God Shiva. The pointsof knowledge are the softwarewhich can work only when thereis a supply of spiritual energy. This most powerful meditationtechnique is taught by God whois the Teacher and Preceptor. The unique feature of thismeditation is that God Himselfteaches humanity as to how oneshould remember Him. Throughremembrance of God in soul-consciousness and with love andreverence, one gets spiritual

power from Him. Experiencehas taught us that this powercalms down the mind and itsproclivities. One is able to handleany kind of outside situationswith ease and stability. Any act, however, tough it may be, canbe handled with accuracy andprecision once there is abundantquantity of patience and peaceinside. The spiritual power fromGod will automatically enhancethe power of patience, tolerance, accommodation, cheerfulnessand solace. The intellectbecomes very sharp and gainsthe ability to discriminate anddecide the right course of actionone should initiate at every stepwith the world speeding up andlife getting busier; it is highlyimportant to embrace God andpractise Meditation so as torestore balance, inner Peaceand stability in life along withincreasing personaleffectiveness and efficiency.

Supreme Father, the SupremeSoul. I’m not limited to beingthe founder of one religion, asthey are. My task is huge, wide, great – different fromothers. This is why it is said,“Hey God! Your task isunique”. How is it unique? There is a difference betweenthe task of the religious fathersand My task, and this is whyI am called God.’

A man is walking in aforest; suddenly hefinds himself chased by

a lion. The man runs for his lifeand finally stops at a well andthinks of jumping into it in orderto save his life from the wildbeast. When he peeps into thewell, he sees a crocodile with itsjaw open. Before he can decide,he slips into the well. As he fallsoff, he caught hold of a branchof a tree near the well and findshimself dangling with his feetinside the well. Soon he sees amouse chewing his branch.Dangling there, he thinks thatoutside is the lion, down belowis the crocodile and the branchis being chewed by the mouse. At this moment, he finds dropsof honey dripping near his mouthfrom the beehive on the treeabove. He sticks his tongue outand just enjoys the honey.

Understanding the story:Lion – your pastCrocodile – your futureMouse – your presentHoney – joys of lifeWe are often chased by the

memories and scars of our pastand troubled by the anxieties andworries of our future.

On top of it, we are constantlysorting out our current issuesthat pop up or even eat our headlike the mouse: This type ofthinking takes us away fromexperiencing joys of life. Whatwe need is to stay in the presentmoment. Being in the presentmoment means:1. To pause and look beyond

the past and futureproblems.

2. Embrace the joys of lifethat come right to us.

Often we are too busy holdingon to negative feelings, resentments or anger of the pastor fear of the unknown. Theseburdens bother and blind us tothe honey bottles being providedin the present.

So look for your honeybottles.

How to find those littlejoys?

Some people constantlywonder how to find the honeydripping – that is the joys of life.

‘I do not see them’; ‘They arenot for me’. ‘I am not lucky’;‘They don’t drip for me’ is theirconstant whining.

Everyone gets his or herhoney bottle in life – I mean the

little positive good things thathappen to us. They are little joyslike a warm smile, a word ofencouragement, someone beingnice to you, having no traffic, good dinner on your plate, moonlight evening, note ofappreciation, your child’s hug, good workout, so on

Life offers us manypleasures, joys and happiness indifferent levels, degrees, waysand portions.

Our only effort lies in noticingthem (sticking the tongue out likein the story)

AcknowledgeEnjoyBe gratefulIf we are able to do this we

are living in the present momentat least some times a day.

Being present is to be fullyaware of your being at thatmoment.

Being aware of your innerself. You are in the moment, when you feel the gentlebreeze on your face. You are in the moment whenyou are completely at peacewith yourself.

Any moment, which pauseseverything, gets your totalattention and makes you enjoyis living in the present moment.Present moments have thepower to make you access toyour inner qualities and you feelfull of energy within yourself.

– Sister Padmapriya, USA

THE FORMULA OF HAPPINESS:STAY IN THE PRESENT

Page 21: 03 world renewal mar16

21The World Renewal, March 2016

Those moments are precioustreasures of life and whateveryou do from that true space isbeneficial. Your thoughts, wordsand actions are aligned.

Often we do actions which wewonder why we did in the firstplace. We keep dwelling orbrooding on them, living a life ofself-pity, anger, wishful thinkingor fear. Being in the momentmeans to have the awarenessthat any form of anger about pastor fantasizing about future ispointless. Instead of worrying orday dreaming, one needs to bemindful of actions and theirconsequences, thus reflecting onnext course of action.

Any moment which makesme lose touch with my inner self– is considered a lost moment.

Moments are lost when I amworried, afraid or basically in anynegative emotion. I lose my selfand that moment is lost for me.

I lose touch with my base.FORMULA OFHAPPINESS:

Our mind’s formula forhappiness is like running in atreadmill towards futureaccomplishments. Human mindlives in an illusion of ever seekinghappiness and it is unable toenjoy the pleasures that lifeoffers in the present.Example: You have a goal tobuild a beautiful house. However, you never get time to

enjoy life as you keep workinghard to build the house. One fineday, your beautiful house isready. Now you are living in thehouse. For first few months, yourmind is happy(living in thepresent moment) but then yourmind races towards adding morefacilities to the house. Again youstart working hard and youforget to acknowledge thehappiness you have right in frontof you. Your mind has forgottenthe earned happiness and hasstarted to run towards futureaccomplishments.TIPS:

Pause for a moment and lookwhere you are headingList your past efforts andachievementsBe proud of them, begrateful and appreciateyourself and others.Awaken your senses to thebeauty that the universe isoffering to you.

Going beyond:Another meaning of being in

the present moment is to let go ofyour worry, fear and sadness andjust enjoy what is in front of you.

Some of the points to gobeyond:

1. Whatever happened isgood, whatever happening isvery good and whatever isgoing to happen will be thevery best.2. This is a game and the

result is not that important butimportant is how we play thisgame.3. Believe in good karma andthe things will be figured outfor you.4. At the end of the day, writethree good and positive thingsyou liked about yourself. e.g.I completed work on time, Ifinished all my errands(shopping), I was kind withmy friend today, so on.5. Write three good andpositive things that life broughtyou today? e.g. I was givenan opportunity to lead themeeting today, I enjoyed myride home as there was lesstraffic, the coffee I dranktoday was excellent, so on6. Write three good andpositive things you liked inothers today? e.g. I liked thatmy spouse made myfavourite dinner, I liked thatmy boss was appreciative ofme today, so on.

Focusing on the good thingshelps to centre the awarenesson the here and now. You beginto appreciate life more and livein the present moment wiselyand earnestly. To be in themoment is the key to return to astate of peace and stillness. So,stop analyzing, criticizing, blaming, judging and begin toaccept, accommodate andappreciate.

Both these words – Atmaand Atom – soundsimilar, but they are two

different entities but with onecommon feature. Both are theminutest of the minute, thesmallest bit of something thatcould be conceived.

When we were kids, ourteacher explained to us whatatom is. He told us that if wekeep on breaking somethinginto pieces until we get apiece which could not bebroken further, that piece isthe atom. In scientificlanguage, atoms are the basicbuilding blocks of ordinarymatter. A desk, the air, evena human body is made up ofatoms. An atom is thesmallest particle of matterthat retains all the chemicaland physical properties of thatmatter. Thus we see thatevery item of matter thatexists is made up of atoms.A single drop of watercontains more than millionsand billions of atoms. We alsolearnt that atom isindestructible and indivisible. We were still kids when welearned about the bombswhich were dropped, one

ATMA AND ATOM

after the other, by America onthe Japanese cities ofHiroshima and Nagasaki, killing around 80,000 people inHiroshima and another 40000in Nagasaki. In the monthsfollowing the attacks, roughly100,000 more people diedslow, horrendous deaths as aresult of radiation poisoning. It was the first time we cameto know about the atomicbomb, also called the nuclearbomb. The scientists hadbeen working hard to achievewhat was previouslyconsidered impossible –splitting the atom. Theysucceeded in splitting theatoms of some elements likeuranium and later, the atomsof hydrogen. The act ofsplitting of these atomsresulted in the release oftremendous amount of energyculminating in the making ofthe atom bombs dropped onHiroshima and Nagasaki. It was a remarkableachievement in science, whichhas been, sadly enough, usedby man to such a devastatingeffect. Thank God, afterHiroshima and Nagasaki, nuclear bombs have not been

used so far, but it does notmean that they have stoppedmaking them. All the fivecountries which are membersof the Security Council of theUnited Nations Organisation, which is supposed to be thecustodian of world peace, feelpride in being called nuclearpowers. More and morecountries, besides these five, have been either successfulin becoming members of thenuclear club or are workinghard and spending lot of theirresources to achieve thatstatus. But the sheerdestructive capability of thesebombs is preventing thenuclear countries fromactually using these bombsbecause they know that incase of a nuclear war, therewill be no country left to becalled winners. What Atom is to the material

world, Atma is to the spiritualworld. Both are infinitesimal insize but the very basis of matterand life respectively. While, thanks to science, much isknown about the atom now, atma is still in the wrap ofdarkness. Atma can be termedas the living energy which runsthe body made of matter. Weknow very little about atma, andwhatever little we know aboutit, is not the truth. Some believethat atma is a part of God orParam-atma or Paramatma and

– Anand Mohan Hans, Delhi

Page 23: 03 world renewal mar16

23The World Renewal, March 2016

there is no difference betweenthem. So, instead of saying thereis atma in every living being theysay that it is Paramatma who isthere in every living being. Atmais considered to be a part orpiece of God.

Many other misconceptionsabout atma prevail in our beliefs. One, because atma is a part ofGod, it cannot do any wrong orcommit any sin. Atma is Nirlep. Two, a natural corollary of thisbelief would be that atma wouldnot be responsible for its ownactions because, three, whatever we do, is done by Godor is willed by Him and sinceAtma is supposed to be themanifest of God, it is abovecommitting any wrong. Four, itis the body which is the culpritbecause we are alwaysconscious of the body and notof the Atma that runs the body.

The scientists of the past haveexplored the atom which washitherto considered to beindestructible and indivisible. They have broken up its myth. The truth about atma has alsobeen unravelled now but thecredit for this does not go to anyhuman being. It goes toParamatma, the Father of all theatmas, who has come down allthe way from His abode toreveal the truth about atma andalso, about Himself since He istoo an Atma.

God has told us that Atma isnot Paramatma but a child ofParamatma, Just as God iscalled Trimurti since He hasBrahma for establishing the newworld, Vishnu for administeringit and, of course, Shankar fordoing away with the old one;atma too has three functionaries,so to say, who work for it. Thesethree workers are: Mind,Intellect and Sanskars. EachAtma has its own mind, anintellect and the Sanskars. Andsince these three workers ofeach Atma are not of the samecalibre, activity of every Atmawould also not be the same. Thus, each Atma is responsiblefor its own actions which it doeswith the help of its functionariesthrough the body it occupies.Paramatma has nothing to dowith atma’s actions.

While we can understandwhat mind and intellect are, weneed to know more aboutSanskars. Sanskars are theinherent but latent tendencies ofAtma – latent because theyreveal themselves only throughthe activity of each Atma. God,who is an Atma and like anyother atma, has also these latenttendencies or attributes, thedifference being that theattributes of God remain thesame for all the time but thoseof the atmas change from thebest to the worst. This is why it

is said that God created man inHis own image, that is, with allthe attributes or Sanskars Hehas. But with the passage oftime God’s Sanskars presentin each atma, get sub-mergedgiving place to entirelydifferent ones. That is to saythat atma’s Sanskars do notremain the same but keep onchanging with time.

We are the spiritual childrenof one God, not so many piecesof God or so many gods. Sinceit is the atma which runs thebody according to its Sanskarsand the other two workers, it isnot the body but the atma whichbears the responsibility of itsactions, of course, through thebody. It suffers the result of itsbad actions or enjoys the fruitof its good actions through thebody it occupies.

The knowledge of Atma thatGod has given to us and is stillgiving, has made each of usrealise that it is the self who isresponsible for one’s actions. Now that we know that eachatma has its own mind to thinkand feel, its own intellect tojudge its actions and its ownSanskars to guide it, there is nosense in saying that whateverwe do is directed or willed byGod. It is only when things gowrong and the atma feels itselfin a mess that it turns to God

Enriched with divinity, thishostel is certainly an abode of the‘golden fortune’ of girls. Theinstrument for opening this hostelwas Late brother Om Prakash, adorably called ‘Bhaiji’ and thefounder gem for this pious cause.Under his experienced, kind anddisciplined guidance, the divinehostel took up its shape in 1983and since then has been touchingnew horizons. The senior B.K.sisters who are themselvesenriched with celestial traits arethe guardians and caretakers ofthe girls of the hostel. Theirmotherly tender care, love andaffection and organizedmanagement of the daily choresare praiseworthy. The daily routine of thehostel inmates is as follows:-

The day begins at 4 o’clockwith spiritual teachings andmeditation session which

brings spiritual power in theinmates of the hostel. Themorning routine helps toaccumulate power of purityand positive energy in theirthoughts, words and actions, which they carry throughoutthe day. After gaining the spiritualknowledge, they go to theirrespective schools andcolleges to acquire academicknowledge and skills. After their return fromschool, they devote their timeto Godly Service.Afternoon 3:30 to 5 o’clockhas been allotted foracademic studies.Evening 6:30 to 7:30 is thetime for mediation when theambience gets filled withstrong celestial powers andappears to be the gatheringof angels.

No doubt, such daily routine, spiritual bliss and disciplinedactivities which are all carriedin remembrance of the Almightyare very helpful in moulding them

into responsible and divinebeings. It helps in shaping uptheir future and morality at itsbest.

Not only the dwellers herefeel themselves blessed andutmost lucky to be a part of thespiritual goal, but their parentsalso consider the ‘ShaktiNiketan’ to be a unique place, ablessing for them.

Hereby I take the opportunityto request all the thoughtfulparents who are concernedabout the bright future of theirwards, to grab this opportunityand give their loving daughtersthis ‘golden fortune’.

The new millennium has witnessed asignificant change and attitudinal shift in the ideasof both women and society about women’sequality and emancipation. Many from youngergeneration feel that ‘all the battles have been wonfor women’. With more women in boardroom, greater equality in legislative rights, and anincreased critical mass of women’s visibility asimpressive role models in every aspect of life, one could think that women have gained trueequality. The unfortunate fact is that women arestill not paid equally to that of their malecounterparts; women are still not present in equalnumbers in business, politics, and globallywomen’s education and health, and the violenceagainst them is still a matter of serious concern.

However, great improvements have beenmade. We do have female astronauts and PrimeMinisters, school girls are welcomed intouniversity, woman can work and have a family.Women have real choices. And so the tone andnature of International Women’s Day, have forthe past few years, moved from being a reminderabout the negatives to a celebration of thepositives.

We talk about the fivemajor vices and tryto find out solutions

to make ourselves free fromthese thorn-like deadly poisonssticking to the whole human racefor more than two millenniums. But there are many other short-sized vices constantly cloudingthe skies of the human mind bythoughts and words in obnoxiousforms. Blame and criticism aretwo such little brothers who havethe capacity to burn not onlyRome but the whole world.Blame is to point out to someoneadversely about. When one findssomething wrong in the activityof another person as per his ownoutlook, he blames that personeither in front or behind.Criticism comes later about thatperson or any other personality, known or unknown, with regardto any particular event orsituation specifically or atrandom by the same person. Itis generally made in absence ofor through indirect comments inpresence against that particularperson. Blame and criticismwalk side by side in each andeveryone’s life and at presentthe whole world is entangled in

BLAME GAME AND CRITICISM –THE WORST WAY OF SELF

DEGRADATION

the spider web of vicious blamegame and criticism, resulting inmassive pollution in humaneenvironment. After the phase ofchildhood, we all blame andcriticise others including ourparents and siblings. Blamegame starts when one finds faultin others. A baby does not seeany fault in his/her mother andthere is no question of blaming. The baby just cries whenever heis hungry or feels any kind ofinconvenience regarding only hisphysique and physicalsurrounding. When the babygrows and reaches the age of 5or 6 years, he starts tounderstand the things heobserves. Gradually he becomesalert about himself of getting ornot getting the desired things. The child gets closer to a personwho satisfies his desires andneeds like chocolates, toys etc.Preference of the child to anyparticular person starts to growfrom these apparently small andfutile things. He learns thesethings very slowly by his ownand at the same time throughsome additional inputs byparents and other familymembers. Now even the

nursery children are veryprecautious in comparison to thesimplicity of the children ofearlier days. It depends on boththe family and inborn nature ofthe child.

Once the criticising naturestarts, it continues throughoutlife in increasing trend. Atpresent, besides small babies, perhaps none is present whodoes not criticise others for somereason or the other. Majoritycriticise behind, and those whohave the courage to criticise onthe face, do so directly. Face toface talk or vis-à-visunfavourable comment is betterthan doing any harm secretly.Sometimes criticism seems to begood if it is done for thebetterment of the other withouthaving any other way to rectifyor resist him from the wrongdoings sensed by the majoritypeople. This problem ismultifaceted becausesometimes the targeted personmay be a stubborn person, ormay be a schizophrenic, whodoes not have control over hisactions. Often majority peoplemay also fail to understand thehidden truth disclosed by a

person during any particularperiod of time, what generallyhappens in case of the greatpersonalities who always remainabove the criticising zone byvirtue, where criticism fails. Asa matter of fact, healthycriticism which may be bettercalled as solution makingarguments, are alwayspreferred, and the same couldrectify the person, people, oreven the ruling government in thestate or centre. Instead, in thepresent scenario, we all criticisewith a negative attitude mainlyto satisfy our own egos or tohave some benefits. How do blame and criticism

come?This twin faulty attitude

reverberates in the mind in anumber of ways both frominternal and external factors, though we all know that theexternal instigation is the maincause. But wherefrom it maycome, it always hurts thetargeted person, right or wrong.Actually the words of blame andcriticism radiate negative energycarrying pain to the person whois being blamed or criticised. Thematter is same for all, me or you.The main difference is thatwhen it is about me, boththrowing and receiving criticismare like a poisonous arrow; Ihave the right to be judgmentalto protect myself by thousandfalsehoods, but in other’s case

there is no mercy. In the presentsociety, personal thought processflows in this way – I am the onlyflawless personality and the restothers, close or far, are alwaysguilty. Though blame and accuseare not natural, now-a-days,these happen in every momentand in any situation creatingturbulence all around byunnatural default. Blame is inevery mouth, criticism is in everymind, but what are the causesbehind the start and continuationof such abusive behaviour in theform of negative attitude? Weall do the same in one or theother way, by means of differentvisible or subtle techniques, butnever confess. We know that italways hurts others and no oneis happy with criticism, still wedo the same thing repeatedlythroughout life with consciouschoice. So, what is to be calledto ourselves–definitelyknowledge-full sinners? We allknow the root causes of criticismincriminated from lifeexperiences, which may be asfollows–

Hatred– It is one of the basiccauses of criticism. Unless wecan remove hatred from ourmind, love cannot take shelterthere. At present, there is a hugecrisis of true love which seemsto be in oblivion. Even among thefamily members and friends, time to time due to any kind ofgrievance, we criticise even one

another. Where love appears, hatred disappears and thenautomatically the nature ofblame game and criticism goesaway.

Jealousy–When we areenvious to anyone; we createsorrow inside, making us proneto criticism in both the knownand unknown situations.

Rejection–Rejection alwaysgives birth to criticism. When Iam accepted, I feel happy, andwhen rejected, I feel pain.Though family and society aremade for the purpose ofacceptance, many times we failto maintain the same.

Anger–It is also a majorcause of criticism. Anger iscreated inside by a person in his/her supposed adverse situationof irritation, agony or pain dueto false belief system. It mayalso be created fordissatisfaction or non-fulfillmentof any kind of long cherishedmental or materialistic desire. When my desire is not fulfilled,I could never see others inforgiving attitude andautomatically, blame gamestarts.

Revenge–Revengefu ltendency creates criticismagainst the targeted person;even subtle desire of revengebrings criticism in our mind.Criticism spreads negativity allthe time and sometimes itcreates a vicious environment

Page 30: 03 world renewal mar16

30 The World Renewal, March 2016

before any massacre. Personality clash–Any

type of personality clash, big orsmall, gives birth to criticism indirect or indirect manner.

How to give up the badhabit of blaming and

criticising?Praise earns many things and

wins many hearts, whereascriticism loses a lot. He whoonce grows the habit ofcriticising can never progress. He has the desire in his mind, toshow himself as good or great,by insubordination to others orsuperiority complex. Hence acritic does not see the sky, hesees only the clouds. In case ofheartfelt love, there may not beany trace of hatred and henceno criticism. We may learn fromGreat Buddha’s lovingquotation–‘Friendship is the onlycure for hatred, the onlyguarantee of peace’. Fillinginside with the emotion of lovemay create an environment offorgiveness that removesnegativity behind the foul play ofblame game and criticism. Eachhuman being is a source of lovefor others. It’s a basic humannature to love and to be loved. If we could start possessing lovemaking habits, criticising naturemust say ‘good bye’ to us oneday without having any otheroption. A dozen of measures aresuited to be mentioned asunder–

Acceptance–It has alwaysbeen the first preference to leada mental debris-free life.Unconditional love helpsunderstand any matter withpatience and could find solution, rather criticism in any form.

Neutral judgment– It isonly possible when we couldchange our vision to see thethings as a witness. It does notmean to spend the days withoutany relevant work, rather itmeans to observe the things inthe right perspective.

Thinking before criticism–Before criticising others, had thethought of its consequencescome into my mind, I might beaware and stop doing the same.

Removal of blockages–Self blockages with its octopuslike arms always try to findscopes to block other creatingproblems, in a number of wayswith the help of blame game andcriticism. If we do not seeothers’ mistakes andshortcomings keeping a sterneye, we can easily overcome theodd situations.

Positive personality–Thishelps to make bar of criticism.Positive person always sees thepositive side of people and hencehe carries a positive aura withhim. Positive personality neversees or overlooks the negativityin other person.

Simplicity–A clean andtransparent mind is the basic

criteria behind simplicity that isdevoid of ego, anger andjealousy.

Breaking the cycle ofnegative energy–If we canstop the negative energyexchange through removal ofwaste from inside, we can breakthe negative cycle.

Being a good transportingagent–When we losecompassion, we lose thecapacity to accept andunderstand others. One requiresfull control over one’s innerworld for being a goodtransporting agent.

Inherent goodness–Thethought that every soul is goodand pure and each one is playinghis/her role with some sort ofspeciality or uniqueness, maygive guidelines to the peopleagainst criticism.

To let go habit–The goldenhabit ‘to let go’ will definitelymake us free from criticism.

Power of peace, truth andlove–These three powerstogether make healing balm offorgiveness which can fill ouranger-filled emotion with love.

Meditation–If we couldemerge the right thoughts, whichare positive and necessary forany odd-looking situation, pandemonium will not occur. Byemerging positive energy in ourconscious mind, we can changeour personality trait. Meditation

The race to keep lookinggood never finishes andeveryone is constantly

caught up in it from the startinggun in the morning to crossingits finishing line late at night. Arethere any winners in this race tolook good? No! There has neverbeen one winner in this body-conscious race to look good inthe thousands of years since therace started.

Actually, the only winners arethe pharmaceutical companieswho manufacture and supply theendless pills and the like to tryand help people become healthyand beat the stresses anddiseases that this race causes.Hospitals are full due to body-related diseases and so aredoctors’ surgeries andoutpatients’ clinics. Everydisease, stress and illness canultimately be traced back to thedisease of body-consciousness.It’s not difficult to understand theroot cause of true illness buttakes a lifetime to alter and putit right. Everything bad in lifehas roots that can be traced backto body-consciousness. This

disease perpetuates, controlsand drives the people and theirdesire to look good.

Are you the cart or thehorse?

Today, everyone has falleninto the body-conscious trap ofputting their cart (body) beforethe horse (their mind). Thisobsession stems from theperception that we have held formany years that we are justbodies with some fluid andelectrical brain impulses. Peoplehave different concepts aboutthe soul or the spirit that drivesthe body but no one can everague against the fact that wehave a mind and when usedconstructively orcompassionately or artistically orintelligently, it is a brilliant toolthat enriches everyone’s life. Butnow we have degenerated it byseeing ourselves as just the cart(the body) and left this incrediblemind behind us in ignorant dustthat does not allow it to progressand evolve spiritually as webecome more obsessed on howto pamper or make our woodencarts look ever glamorous. In

this vicious race to look morebeautiful, more attractive andnoticeable, we fail to take careof our minds as this pursuit ofillusionary world leads to thepitfall of negativity and dwellingon negative and pessimisticthoughts.

Running scaredThose who are running in the

race to look good, will of course, one day, realise that one cannotcreate real beauty by focusingon Physical aspect. They areignoring the true beauty thatdoes lie within them and whichthey can increase if they wereto stop and open their inner eyeto spirituality, love, charity andGod. Few people realise thatgiving makes them beautiful, both on the inside and outside.People act like a poor personwho does want money and yetis constantly running in theopposite direction from the bankthat is open 24 hours a day andis always giving out money toanyone who steps through itsfront door. We all have a bankwithin us or say an innerreservoir of love, compassionand kindness. All we need is toopen up this bank and startgiving and sharing. Howevermost of us keep our vaultsclosedthroughout our lives;which accounts for why manyare morally and spirituallybankrupt or just pauper.

Habits of a lifetime createunhappiness and sorrow of

a lifetime. How many people reading this

have a bad habit that they wishthey could conquer? Do youthink you do not have any badhabits to deal with? Think again.

There is one very importantaspect relating to bad habits.Everyone has this and everyoneis also handcuffed to the resultswhich bad habits bring to them,be it ill-health, stress, addictionor poverty. Bad habits are notthe shoes to wear if you wanthappiness, as they will only takeyou down the road tounhappiness. Bad habits will takeyou in the opposite direction ofhappiness and away from thegoals and the future you wantfor yourself. If you want to gofor a nice walk on a sunny dayand yet have to carry and dragbehind you, a rucksack filledwith heavy rubbish, are yougoing to enjoy your walk?

Bad habits are verydetrimental to you and yourhappiness and are like stones inyour shoes that will eventuallycripple you. Perhaps you maythink that everyone has badhabits and so what is the big deal.Yet when you look around, howmany truly happy people can yousee who are without stress orworry? How many peaceful

people do you meet in the courseof a day? Make no mistake, badhabits will rob you of yourenergy, time and happinesswhich are the corner stones andfoundation of a peaceful, stress-free and enjoyable life. As youdo not like to give time, spaceand attention to someone youdislike, in the same way, youhave to learn not to giveattention to your bad habits thatare robbing you of yourhappiness and peace of mind.

Learn to recognise badhabits

You must simply learn torecognise a bad habit and thenreplace it with a good habit thatwill bring you benefit in the longrun. This is not rocket science.Without this recognition andreplacement system, you willalways be swimming against astrong tide of past actionsthinking the waves of yourlimited fulfilment andenjoyment are all that can behad in life. This notion willalways keep you locked in theprison of the physical sensesthat greatly limit and restrictyou. Even if you manage tosurvive the dangerousundercurrents of bad habits thatcan pull you down, you will findyourself sucked in the quagmireof negativity, jealousy, anger,low-self-esteem and bitterness.

Your bad habits create a cultureof negative thoughts andemotions – and once they begin, you sink deeper and deeper, andpulling yourself out becomesvery difficult and you keepstuck in unhappiness, dissatisfaction and sorrow.

Bad habits are like invisiblethieves that rob people of theirtreasures of happiness, energyand time. Now is a good timeto step off this ‘bad habittreadmill’ and step on to a paththat can help you create alifestyle that leads to permanenthappiness.

Life with its manyautomatic responses

With our many automaticresponses, every day comeswith the automatic sorrow. Why? We have lost the abilityto examine our thoughts, habitsand reactions to our life aroundus. We truly have becomeautomatic people that actwithout thought, intellect andreason.

If only people would sit downand introspect what they aredoing, what they really would liketo get from life and how theirimmediate actions are creatinga constant negative effect forthem to deal with andexperience, then they would, actvery differently. People’sresponses to life will be much

Page 33: 03 world renewal mar16

The World Renewal, March 2015 33

better and wiser and will makethem feel bad on their wrongchoices in life. The blindgardener may think he is doinggoodand feeding his flowersnutrient food yet may be actuallypouring poison on to them.People are walking through lifeblindly and their garden reflectstheir inability to see.

We can with effort, turn ourautomatic response system builtwithin us, to our advantage. How? By learning to respond ina positive way. This will bringus happiness and will create apositive knock-on effect.

Don’t watch others – butwatch (love) yourself every

secondLearn to be the second-hand

(peaceful) in your watch (life)which can ignore and observethe rest of the world along withits minutes and hours (bad habitsand poor lifestyles). What goodis a watch (life) if you take awaythe mechanics of the secondhand? We need to learn to tickaway in our own time and pacethat gives us peace andhappiness rather than beingcaught up in the hectic andrelentless pace of life thatcontinually goes on around us.Of course you can step on tothat predictable merry-go-roundat any time but personally, itmakes me dizzy just thinking ofgoing round in circles of ignorant

living or riding the waves ofsorrowful life. Most love to livetheir lives in a spin and willforever be going round in circleschasing their tails which shouldthey catch, will cause themfurther sorrow when they bitethem. Their tails (desires)appear very attractive to themto chase after and have the allureof fur and body, consciousglamour, the appearance ofluxury, wealth and riches thatencourages and drives themever faster in their pursuit offulfilment, satisfaction andhappiness. They pay dearly forthis ride of ignorance and forgetthat they can step off this rideat any moment if they wanted.

There is a path to happinessthat is far removed from thismerry-go-round and that pathleads to exploring our inner worldbut one needs the desire, willpower and clarity of mind to beable to step off that merry-go-round of sorrow in order to walkdown that path.

Is the tap of your mindconstantly dripping?

Are you aware of a leakagefrom your tap (mind), as mostpeople are not? Most lose a lotof energy in the course of a day,in the course of a lifetime. Alifetime spent with a constantlydripping tap, can result in youreasily losing everything valuableyou own: your mental energy, and

with that, your virtues, yourqualities and your powers. Thetap of your mind only needstightening up (attention) so thatyou will not lose anything. So simple as you only need

to look at yourself. This simple task of tightening

your tap, that needs you to bespiritually aware, is the mostimportant task you can ever dofor yourself. It helps you toconquer your bad habits andkeep a careful watch on yourthoughts and actions. It is timeto let the world watch you asyou walk in peace and lovetowards attaining your goal.

is the way to connect the soulwith the Highest QualitySupreme Soul and throughthis beautiful connection, there is always unidirectionalhigh energy transmission tohuman souls from Him, ourown Father. In meditation, wecan experience the power ofsilence both in mind andheart. It is the best methodof purifying mind and intellectthrough which humanconsciousness functions.Clear mind and soothing heartare the basic criteria behindpeace and happiness which isnow very urgent for the selfand the rest of the world.

thus be able to attain excellence. But the best advantage

would, perhaps, be that in thisstate of self-surrender anddedication, actions will emergefrom us as if effortlessly;naturally and spontaneously. Infact, the whole being of manwith all what he has, will bepressed into action or service, for he will consider it as asacrosanct act. This, doubtlessly, will lead him toexcellence and perfection.

It should, therefore, beremembered that, by surrenderingto God, we don’t becomesubservient. On the contrary, webecome free agents – free frommental attachments which act asbondages. And, as free agents,we act as self-containedindividuals. God being ourconstant companion enhances ourpersonality and our mentalabilities. WOMAN – THE HOME MAKER– Rajbala Singh, New Delhi

Home is the nursery for the saplings to nurture

Home is the foundation of social structure

Can a home survive without woman?

You may squander lacs, you may squander million.

As the mother, the highest compliment of nature

She is the generator, she is the protector

Man may be the bread- earner, the care taker

It is only woman who is the home maker.

Woman is the maker of a nation

She is the moulder of a civilization

She is virtuous, the epitome of compassion

A family devoid of woman loses warmth and affection.

Woman to the world is God’s boon

The devilish-customs have treated her as doom

The earth turns parched without rain

A home without a woman is Satan’s domain.

She may be a teacher, an engineer or a doctor

Her prerogative is to be a home maker

A sweet home is the Heaven where gods love to reside

Or else, the destiny of human existence no one candecide.
