Philosopher’s Café Series, presented by SFUThird Wednesday of each month, 7:00pm – 8:30pmJoin moderator Mark Battersby, PhD, for vibrant street-level discussions.December 15th’s session addresses the topic of the environment. Is the reason we care about the environment because we want to leave a livable world to our children? English Conversation CornerMonday, December 6th and 13th 7:30pm – 8:30pmCome and practise your English language skills with a fun group of new speakers. LIBRARY NEWSIntroducing BiblioCommons NVDPL’s new online catalogue

If you haven’t seen it yet, North Vancouver District Public Library has recently launched its new library catalogue, BiblioCommons!

This new catalogue offers Library users a host of new ways to find library materials and connect with other library patrons.

For example, with BiblioCommons, patrons can

• rateandcommentonbooks,movies and other library materials,

• createlistsoffavouriteauthors,genresorintereststosharewith other patrons, or to keep private,

• connectandcommunicatewithotherpatronswithsimilarinterests in a safe environment,

• buildnetworksoffavouritereviewers,and

• explorebestsellers,awardwinnersandnewlyacquiredlibrary materials.

And, as with the old catalogue, BiblioCommons also allows users to manage their accounts online, place holds, renew items, and check due dates.
