Choral Music @ the LibraryTreat yourself to some live holiday music! This December, two local school choirs perform at your Library. Performances are free and open to all.

On Monday, December 6th, the Sherwood Park Elementary School Choir performs in the cozy fireplace area of the Parkgate Branch Library from 1:45pm to 2:30pm.

On Thursday, December 16th the Argyle Secondary School Choir performs at Lynn Valley Main Library from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.

Holiday Open HousesThis December stop by one of the three North Vancouver District Public Library Branches for a free holiday open house!

At these events you’ll enjoy a festive atmosphere, some holiday refreshments and good company.

Stories, Snow and Mistletoe Seasonal Storytime @ the Library

Stop by Lynn Valley Main Library on Thursday, December 16th from 3:45pm - 4:15pm for a free seasonal storytime session titled “Stories, Snow and Mistletoe.” For children aged 3 to 7 years. Free; no registration required.

English Conversation CornerMonday, December 6th and 13th 7:30pm – 8:30pmCome and practise your English language skills with a fun group of new speakers. LIBRARY NEWSIntroducing BiblioCommons NVDPL’s new online catalogue

If you haven’t seen it yet, North Vancouver District Public Library has recently launched its new library catalogue, BiblioCommons!

This new catalogue offers Library users a host of new ways to find library materials and connect with other library patrons.

For example, with BiblioCommons, patrons can

• rateandcommentonbooks,movies and other library materials,

• createlistsoffavouriteauthors,genresorintereststosharewith other patrons, or to keep private,

• connectandcommunicatewithotherpatronswithsimilarinterests in a safe environment,

• buildnetworksoffavouritereviewers,and

• explorebestsellers,awardwinnersandnewlyacquiredlibrary materials.

And, as with the old catalogue, BiblioCommons also allows users to manage their accounts online, place holds, renew items, and check due dates.
