Important Safety Information  

 WARNING!  Read and ensure you understand all the safety and operating instructions in this user guide before using the Chill Station.  

Using the Chill Station in an unsafe manner can cause bodily injury or death due to crushing, electric shock, and fire. Follow these safe operating practices to reduce the risk of bodily injury and death:  Safe Installation Practices 

• Install the Chill Station according to the instructions before using it. 

• Use only the power cord provided with the Chill Station. Plug it into a grounded,  3‐prong, 115‐volt, 60‐cycle electrical outlet. 

Keep Children Safe 

• Supervise children when they use the Chill Station. 

• Do not allow children to climb or hang on the Chill Station. 

• If a syrup adjusting knob or any small part breaks free of the Chill Station, it could become a choking hazard to small children. Do not allow children to play with small parts if one breaks free from the Chill Station. 

Safe Operation Practices 

• Use only with bottled drinking water and Chill Station brand syrup cartridges in the Chill Station.  

• Do not store or use flammable liquids such as gasoline in the vicinity of the Chill Station. 

• Before cleaning the Chill Station or loading water bottles on the Chill Station, move the pump and refrigerator power switches on the back of the cabinet to the Off position and disconnect the power cord. 

• Do not remove the cabinet panels or perform service on Chill Station. 

• Move the pump and refrigerator power switches to the Off position when no water bottle is in place.

Selecting the Right Location Select a location that is dry, level, and out of direct sunlight. The location should remain between 50°F (l0°C) and l00°F (38°C). 

Place the Chill Station out of the way of pedestrian flow and in a location that will safely support its weight including a 5‐gallon water bottle. 

Allow 2 inches of space between the Chill Station and walls or other appliances for air circulation. The Chill Station is designed for interior use. Do not use the Chill Station in outside locations. 

Use a Grounded Electrical Outlet 

 WARNING!  If you do not properly ground the Chill Station, you can receive a serious electrical shock resulting in injury or death. To prevent electrical shock, ensure you plug the Chill Station into a grounded electrical outlet as described below. 

The Chill Station uses a grounded power cord and a 3‐prong electrical plug to protect against electrical shock. Plug the power cord into a grounded, 115‐volt, 60‐cycle power receptacle. 

Do not defeat the grounding by removing the grounding prong from the plug or by using an adaptor. 

Do not use the Chill Station with a standard 2‐prong receptacle. 

Do not use adaptors or extension cords with the Chill Station’s power cord. The Chill Station should have its own dedicated electrical outlet.

Water Temperature Adjustment Screw The water temperature adjustment screw noted above is set at the factory to provide chilled water. If the water is too warm or cold for your preference, you can adjust the water temperature. 

Use a medium‐sized screw driver to turn the screw 1/8‐turn clockwise to lower the water temperature or 1/8‐turn counterclockwise to raise the temperature. Wait an hour without using the Chill Station and check the water temperature. If needed, continue to adjust the water temperature following this procedure.

Tips for Trouble‐Free Operation 

 CAUTION!  Syrup can stain floors, countertops, clothing, rugs, plastics and other materials. Clean syrup spills immediately with warm water and mild detergent to avoid staining. 

• Keep the Chill Station Fresh—Keep the syrup compartment fresh by placing a box of baking soda in the box holder on the inside of the door. Change the box as recommended for use in your refrigerator. 

• Getting the Desired Flavor—Sample the beverage for flavor after installing a syrup cartridge. Adjust the syrup mixing valve and sample again for flavor. Repeat this process until the desired flavor is achieved.  

Place a new, opened box of baking soda inside the syrup compartment door to maintain freshness in the syrup compartment. Replace as recommended for use in your refrigerator.

Clean up syrup spills immediately to minimize risk of staining.

Loading a Bottle of Water 

Warning!  If you spill water into the cabinet while loading a bottle of water onto the water bottle receptacle, you could receive an electrical shock resulting in injury or death. To prevent receiving an electrical shock when loading a bottle of water, move the 

two power switches on the back of the Chill Station to the Off position and disconnect the power cord. Avoid spilling water into the cabinet. 

Caution!  If you are replacing an existing water bottle, ensure the water level in the water tank is low enough to avoid overflowing the tank when the new bottle is inserted in the receptacle. 

Follow these steps to load a bottle of water on the Chill Station: 

1. Move both power switches on the back of the Chill Station to the Off position. 2. Unplug the power cord. 3. Wipe the top of the bottle with a cloth to remove dust and dirt. 4. Remove any labels that seal the spout or valve of the water bottle. Note—See the water supplier 

instructions if needed. 5. Place the water bottle on top of the Chill Station’s bottle receptacle and push down if needed 

to let the piercing pin penetrate the bottle cap. The bottle should be centered and resting on the collar of the bottle receptacle. 

6. Wipe up any spills. 7. Plug in the power cord. 8. Move both power switches on the back 

of the Chill Station to the On position. 

 Note—The Chill Station will cool the water  to the desired temperature in about one hour.

Learning about the Syrup Cartridges 

Caution!  Syrup can stain floors, countertops, clothing, rugs, plastics and other materials. Clean syrup spills immediately with warm water and mild detergent to avoid staining. 

Where to Purchase Syrup Cartridges You can purchase syrup cartridges three ways: online at ChillStation.com, by calling customer service at Al’s Beverage at 1‐860‐627‐7003, or at food and beverage retailers noted on our website. 

Using and Storing Syrup Cartridges Syrup cartridges are ready to use and include a food‐grade silicon seal in the cap. The cap is self‐sealing, so, if desired, you can safely remove and store a partially‐used syrup cartridge for use at a later date. 

Note—Some syrup can drip from the seal during removal. Syrup can stain floors, countertops, clothing, rugs, plastics, and other materials. Clean syrup spills immediately with warm water and mild detergent to avoid staining. 

Store syrups at room temperature (50 to 70°F). Storage at temperatures outside of this range can shorten the shelf life or alter the taste and usability of the syrup.  

A Best if Used By (BIUB) date is printed on each cartridge. 

The typical mix ratio for most products is 5 parts water to 1 part syrup. Syrup cartridges typically hold 64 ounces of syrup. So a mix ratio of 5 + 1 produces about 3 gallons of finished beverage from a cartridge. Note—Refer to the label on your syrup cartridge for the recommended mix ratio.

Loading and Removing Syrup Cartridges 

Caution!  When you push a syrup cartridge in place, the beverage can momentarily 

spurt from its beverage dispensing nozzle. To avoid a spill, place a cup under the delivery nozzle to catch any flow. 

Loading a Syrup Cartridge Follow these steps to load a syrup cartridge into the Chill Station: 

1. Remove a syrup cartridge from its box. 2. Place a large cup under the delivery nozzle. 3. Open the cartridge compartment. 4. Invert bottle over cartridge tray 5. Insert bottle into one of the holes in the tray 6. Place the supplied flavor identification sticker on the dispensing button label pad 7. Place a cup under the delivery nozzle. 8. Press the dispensing button until you can see the beverage flow from the dispensing nozzle. 

This flushes air, cleaning solution, or the previous beverage from the delivery line. Note—Several ounces of clear water may be dispensed prior to receiving the finished beverage.   

9. Dispose of the beverage collected during flushing.

Adjusting the Taste of the Beverage After installing a new syrup cartridge and flushing the beverage through to the dispensing nozzle, adjust the taste of the beverage following these steps: 

1. Sample the beverage for flavor. 2. If the flavor is too weak, turn the syrup mixing valve slightly counterclockwise. If the flavor 

is too strong, turn the syrup mixing valve slightly clockwise. 3. Sample the beverage for flavor. 4. Repeat step 2 and 3 until you achieve the taste you desire. 5. No further adjustment is needed.

Remove a Syrup Cartridge You can remove a syrup cartridge before it is empty, storing it for later use. Follow these steps to remove a syrup cartridge from the Chill Station: 

1. Hold receiving tray in place with one hand while you pull the cartridge release lever out to raise the cartridge up off the tray. 

2. Without squeezing the cartridge too hard, rock the cartridge gently while lifting the cartridge straight up and out of the tray. 

3. If the bottle is empty, please recycle it. 4. If the bottle contains syrup for later use, store it cap‐side up, in a cool dry location.

Cleaning the Chill Station 

Warning!  If you spill water into the cabinet while cleaning the Chill Station, you could receive an electrical shock resulting in injury or death. To prevent receiving an electrical shock during cleaning, move the two power switches on the back of the 

Chill Station to the Off position and disconnect the power cord. Avoid spilling water into the cabinet. 

There are three elements to cleaning the Chill Station: 

1. Cleaning the cabinet, drip trays, and cartridge tray (clean as required) 2. Cleaning the water delivery system (clean every 3 months) 3. Cleaning the syrup delivery system (clean every 3 months) 

Cleaning the Cabinet, Drip Trays, and Cartridge Tray As required, wipe the cabinet’s exterior with a clean cloth dampened with water. Remove the cup drip tray by lifting it out and cleaning with warm water and mild soap. 

Remove dust from the coils on the back of the Chill Station using a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner.     

Follow these steps to clean the cartridge tray and cartridge drip tray: 

1. Remove the syrup cartridges from the cartridge tray. 2. Remove the cartridge tray by pushing it in towards the back of the compartment, 

then lifting the front up and out. 3. Wash the cartridge tray and O‐rings using warm water and a mild soap. 4. Apply a thin film of food‐grade sanitary lubricate such as Haynes Lubri‐Film to the O‐rings. 5. Use a clean rag moistened with water to 

wipe syrup out of the cartridge drip tray. 6. Reinstall the cartridge tray by angling the 

back edge down and pushing rearward as you push the front edge downward until it snaps into place. 

7. Reinstall the syrup cartridges in the cartridge tray.

Cleaning the Water Delivery System (Recommended Every Three Months) Wait until the water bottle is empty and then follow these steps to clean the water delivery system: 

1. Place a container under the dispensing nozzle and press the water dispensing button until no more water flows from the water tank. 

2. Move the two power switches on the back of the Chill Station to the Off position and disconnect the power cord. 

3. Remove the empty water bottle from the chill station. 4. Place both hands on the collar of the water bottle receptacle, rotate it counterclockwise 

about one‐half inch, and lift the bottle receptacle from the Chill Station. 5. Clean the bottle receptacle thoroughly by hand using warm water and mild soap.  6. Remove any ice rings that may be present in the water tank. 7. Gently and carefully wipe the tank components and the inside of the tank dry with 

a clean cloth or paper towels. 8. Replace the water receptacle into the water tank and rotate clockwise until locks into place. 9. Install a water bottle on the water bottle receptacle. 10. Plug in the power cord. 11. Move the two power switches to the On position. 

Cleaning the Syrup Delivery System (Recommended Every Three Months) Every three months, clean the syrup delivery system by following these steps: 

1. Remove the left‐hand cartridge from the cartridge tray and install a Chill Station cleaning cartridge (available anywhere you can purchase Chill Station syrup cartridges). 

2. Place a container under the dispensing nozzles to catch the cleaning solution. 3. Press the left‐hand beverage dispensing button until 8 ounces of fluid is dispensed. 4. Remove the cleaning cartridge and store it cap side up in a cool dry location. 5. Continue to press the dispensing button for 10 more seconds to fully flush the lines. 6. Reinstall the syrup cartridge. 7. Press the left‐hand beverage dispensing button until the beverage begins to flow from 

the dispensing nozzle. 8. Continue to press the dispensing button for 10 more seconds to fully flush the lines 

of the cleaning solution. 9. Repeat steps 1 though 8 for the right‐hand syrup delivery system. 10. Store the cleaning cartridge cap side up in a cool dry location.

Sanitizing the Water Deliver System Periodically, depending on usage and water quality, you should sanitize the water delivery system by following the steps below. 

Sanitizing the Water Tank 1. Move the two power switches on the back of the Chill Station to the Off position and disconnect 

the power cord. 2. Remove the water bottle from the Chill Station. 3. Place both hands on the collar of the water bottle receptacle, rotate it counter clock‐wise about 

one‐half inch, and lift the bottle receptacle from the Chill Station. 4. Clean the bottle receptacle thoroughly by hand using warm water and mild soap.  5. Plug in the power cord and move the pump power switch (red) on the back of the Chill Station 

to the On position. 6. Place a container under the beverage dispensing nozzle and press the water dispensing button 

until the water tank is half empty. 7. Move the pump power switch (red) on the back of the Chill Station to the Off position and 

disconnect the power cord. 8. Mix ½ teaspoon of unscented household bleach with 2 quarts of warm water. [Use warm water 

to melt ice rings in the water tank.] 9. Pour the sanitizing solution into the water tank so that the level in the tank is at the top 

of the stainless steel part of the tank. 10. Allow the solution to sit for 15 to 20 minutes or longer to melt the ice rings and sanitize 

the tank. 11. Plug in the power cord and move the pump power switch (red) on the back of the Chill Station 

to the On position. 12. Place a container under the dispensing nozzle and press the water dispensing button until 

the tank is completely empty. 13. Move the pump power switch (red) on the back of the Chill Station to the Off position 

and disconnect the power cord. 14. Wipe the inside of the water tank dry with a clean cloth or paper towels. 15. Install a fresh bottle of water following the procedure in Loading a Bottle of Water on page 9.

Troubleshooting Tips 

Problem  Possible Cause  Corrective Action 

Beverages are not cold 

Refrigeration switch is off.  Move refrigeration switch to the On position. 

  Chill Station was just started.  Wait one hour for refrigeration unit to chill water. 

  High usage in a short period of time.   Wait for refrigeration unit to chill fresh water entering water tank. 

  Water temperature adjustment screw turned down.  

Adjust water temperature adjustment screw. 

  Air flow blocked at back of cabinet.  Ensure 2 inches of unrestricted clearance is provided at the back of the cabinet. 

Beverage does not dispense 

Water bottle is empty.  Replace water bottle. 

  Syrup cartridge is empty.  Replace syrup cartridge.   Power cord is unplugged.  Plug power cord in.    Red pump switch is off.  Move red pump switch to the On 

position.   Syrup mixing valve is closed.  Rotate syrup mixing valve clockwise 

and follow beverage taste adjustment procedure. 

  Fuse is blown or circuit breaker is tripped.  Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. 

  O‐ring in syrup cartridge tray is damaged.   Call1–888–ALS–SODA for support.   O‐ring in syrup cartridge tray is not 

properly lubricated. Apply a thin film of food‐grade sanitary lubricate such as Haynes Lubri‐Film to the O‐ring. 

  Cartridge cap is damaged or flawed.  Apply a thin film of food‐grade sanitary lubricate such as Haynes Lubri‐Film to the O‐ring. 

Water does not taste fresh 

Water tank and line need to be cleaned.  See the cleaning section in this user guide. 

  Water is not fresh or contaminated.  Sanitize water tank and ensure bottled water is clean and fresh. 

Beverages do not taste fresh 

Water tank, water line, syrup tank and syrup lines need to be cleaned. 

See the cleaning section in this user guide. 

  Syrup cartridge is beyond its expiration date. 

Replace syrup cartridge with fresh cartridge. 

Beverages taste too strong or too weak 

Syrup mixing valve not set properly.  Adjust syrup mixing valves to achieve the desired taste. 

  Syrup cartridge is empty.  Replace syrup cartridge.   Syrup cartridge not seated properly.  Reinstall syrup cartridge following 

instructions in this user guide.

Odor in cartridge compartment 

Cartridge tray or drip pan needs cleaning.  See cleaning section. 

  No baking soda stored in compartment.  Place a box of baking soda in compartment door. 

Water leaking on outside of cabinet 

Water bottle not inserted straight.  Reinsert bottle following instructions in this user guide. 

  Chill Station not level.  Level Chill Station.   Crack or pinhole in water bottle.  Replace water bottle.   Water bottle inserted into full water tank 

causing overflow. Place a container under the dispensing nozzles and press the water dispensing nozzle to remove some water from the water tank.  

Humming noise when dispensing water or beverage 

Normal.  N/A 

Vibration or rattling during use  

Loose panel.  Tighten panel screws. 

  Chill Station on uneven surface.  Level Chill Station.   Back of cabinet touching wall.  Move Chill Station 2 inches from wall.

Disposing of the Chill Station Your Chill Station uses an environmentally‐friendly refrigerant. However, should a day arrive that you must dispose of your Chill Station, you must still have an EPA‐certified technician recover and properly dispose of the refrigerant. Failure to properly recover the refrigerant can result in fines or imprisonment under law. 

Warranty Al’s Beverage warranties the Chill Station for one year against defects in materials and workmanship. If your Chill Station does not operate properly, read and follow the troubleshooting tips provided in this user guide. If your Chill station still does not function properly, call the technical support team at Al’s Beverage at 1‐860‐627‐7003. 

If the problem cannot be resolved by our technical support team, you must return your Chill Station to the retailer from which it was purchased along with proof of purchase. Al’s Beverage will replace the Chill Station with a new or reconditioned unit. You must pay for shipping the replacement unit to your home or office. 

The warranty does not cover problems attributable to: 

• Improper installation or maintenance 

• Improper use 

• Abuse or damage 

• Alterations or modifications made by the user 

• Dispensing dirty water unfit for drinking 

• Dispensing fluids other than safe drinking water 

• Dispensing syrups other than Chill Station syrups
